Tickwire compared with other providers
Other hosted MT4/MT5 APIs range from a wide feature surface with many regions to simpler services aimed at no-code tools. Tickwire serves the API shapes existing clients already call, then adds health from real work, webhooks, an audit trail and an MCP server for AI apps.
Choose another provider if
- You need a copy-trading service, an MT Manager API, hosted configuration links or demo-account generation today.
- You need many hosting regions or hot-standby replicas right now.
- You want hosted EA upload, or to pay by crypto or bank transfer.
- You want a provider with years of production history and named customers.
Choose Tickwire if
- Your accounts have shown "connected" while prices had stopped, and you need health you can act on.
- You want webhooks and a public status page with uptime history.
- You want one dedicated IP that all your accounts share and that's never given to another customer.
- You already call the /users/current REST API or the /v1 and terminal routes and want to keep your request and response shapes.
- You want valid TLS on dedicated IPs and UTC timestamps that really are UTC.

| Feature | Other providers | Tickwire | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Platforms | MT4 and MT5. Some use different endpoint names, base URLs and auth for each. | MT4 and MT5 behind one contract. | Tickwire ahead |
| Connection model | Mostly a hosted terminal per account. One says it needs no terminal. | One real MetaTrader terminal per account. | Different trade-off |
| Health signals | A client-side SDK health check, or a coarse status ladder. On some, private-server account status follows the hosting lifecycle, not the terminal. | Server-side health from real work (broker link, account reads, tick advance) with ages and reasons, pushed within 60 s. | Tickwire ahead |
| Public status page and uptime history | None published, or two HTTP endpoints checked every 5 minutes with nothing per account. | Public status page with components, health by platform and daily uptime history. | Tickwire ahead |
| Webhooks | None, or not documented. | HMAC-SHA256 signed webhooks with timestamps. | Tickwire ahead |
| Streaming protocol | A socket.io protocol documented through an SDK only, or a WebSocket per terminal. | A socket.io protocol that keeps the shapes existing clients read, a WebSocket per terminal, and a documented plain-WebSocket protocol with sequence numbers and resume. | Tickwire ahead |
| Other providers' SDKs | Official JS and Python SDKs for their own service. | Not offered. Use the REST endpoints directly or the Tickwire SDKs. | They're ahead |
| Tickwire SDKs | Python and Node SDKs; one provider's own reference notes its SDK lags the API. | Python and TypeScript SDKs, not yet published on PyPI or npm. | Parity |
| Idempotency | A transaction ID on account creation and a client ID on trades, or an Idempotency-Key on batch orders. | Idempotency-Key on every mutating call; clientId maps to it on trades. | Tickwire ahead |
| Ambiguous trade outcomes | Trade errors carry the MetaTrader return code. | Same codes, plus an outcome field. An order that can't be confirmed is reported as unknown. | Tickwire ahead |
| Audit log | Not documented. | Append-only log of every action with actor and reason. | Tickwire ahead |
| TLS on dedicated IPs | Some use self-signed certificates and tell customers to use verify=False. | Valid ACME certificates on real hostnames. | Tickwire ahead |
| Key rotation | On some, creating, rotating or re-scoping a read-only key restarts the terminals in scope. | Creating, rotating or revoking a key restarts nothing. | Tickwire ahead |
| Timestamps | Some label broker time with "Z" as if it were UTC. | UTC is UTC; broker time is a separate, labelled field with a measured offset. | Tickwire ahead |
| API compatibility | Each provider has its own API. | Serves the /users/current REST API and the /v1 and terminal routes that existing clients call; switching is a new base URL and key. | Tickwire ahead |
| Batch orders | Some offer POST /v1/orders and /v1/orders/close with selectors and Idempotency-Key. | The same endpoints and selectors. | Parity |
| Private servers: resize, cancel, idempotency | Some offer resize, cancel/resume and delete by API. | Resize, cancel and Idempotency-Key by API. | Parity |
| Risk management and statistics | Risk-management and trading-statistics APIs from some. | Drawdown and profit trackers, trading statistics, plus a guard next to the terminal that flattens on breach. Not available yet. | Parity |
| Copy trading, Manager API, configuration links | Available from some. | Not offered. | They're ahead |
| Hosted EAs and Level 2 | Hosted EA upload and Level-2 depth from some. | Level-2 depth on MT5; no EA hosting. | They're ahead |
| No-code tools | Some are pitched at n8n, Make and Zapier, with a Postman collection. | Plain REST and webhooks work with those tools; no dedicated integrations yet. | They're ahead |
| Device fingerprint per account | A distinct device per account on some. | A distinct device identity per account. | Parity |
| Regions and replicas | Up to nine hosting regions; some run two instances per account or cross-region replicas. | Fewer regions at launch, and one terminal per account. | They're ahead |
| Payments | Card, crypto top-up or bank transfer, depending on the provider. | Monthly subscription by card, through our payment provider. Discount codes. No crypto or bank transfer. Payments aren't live yet. | They're ahead |
| OpenAPI spec and changelog | Not published by some. | OpenAPI-generated reference and a public changelog. | Tickwire ahead |
| Terms | Seen in their terms: no SLA, and bans on resale and "competing businesses". | Resale allowed. Draft SLA with service credits; draft terms are public. | Tickwire ahead |
