Works when your computer is off
We run a real MetaTrader terminal for each account in the cloud and keep it connected. Your AI app reaches it from anywhere.
You choose what it may do
Sign in with Tickwire, pick the accounts, and choose Look only or Look and trade. No key to copy.
No double orders
Each order carries an idempotency key. If the AI repeats itself, it gets the first result back. If a
result can't be confirmed, it hears unknown and checks before acting again.
A reason on every trade
The AI must say why it trades. Each order is logged with who asked and why, so you can read what it did later.
Your own limits
Kill switches stop an app at once. A pre-trade hook lets your own service allow, deny or hold each order before it goes out.
MT4 and MT5, any broker
The same tools work on both platforms. Connect accounts from any broker that offers MetaTrader.

Connect Claude or ChatGPT
Claude
- Open Customize › Connectors, press + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it Tickwire, paste the address and press Continue.
- Keep the sign-in settings Claude suggests and press Add. You don't need a key or a client ID.
- Sign in with your Tickwire login, pick the accounts, choose Look only or Look and trade, and press Allow.
- In a chat, press + › Connectors and turn Tickwire on.

ChatGPT
- On chatgpt.com, open Settings › Security and login and turn on Developer mode.
- Go to Plugins and press + to create an app.
- Name it Tickwire, paste the address under Connection, choose OAuth and create it.
- Sign in with your Tickwire login, pick the accounts, choose Look only or Look and trade, and press Allow.
- In a new chat, open the + menu, choose Developer mode and select Tickwire.

Questions
What is a MetaTrader MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how AI apps such as Claude and ChatGPT call outside tools. A MetaTrader MCP server gives the AI tools for an MT4 or MT5 account: read the balance and positions, get prices and candles, and place or close orders.
Do I need to install anything or keep MetaTrader open?
No. The Tickwire MCP server is hosted, and so is the MetaTrader terminal behind it. You paste one address into your AI app and sign in. Nothing runs on your computer.
Can the AI trade without my permission?
Only if you allow it. When you connect an app you pick the accounts it may use and choose Look only or Look and trade. You can disconnect it at any time, and kill switches and pre-trade hooks apply to its orders.
Does it work with MT4 and MT5?
Yes. The same tools work for MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 accounts, with any broker.
Does the AI decide what to trade?
Tickwire doesn't give trading advice or signals. It carries out what you or your AI ask, sends each order once and reports what really happened. Whether a trade is a good idea is up to you.
