X-Actor or X-Reason holds characters outside printable ASCII. Nothing was sent or changed.

HTTP 400. Nothing reached the broker.

Likely causes:

• Raw accented letters, emoji or other non-ASCII text in the header.
• A tab, line break or other control character in the header.

What to do: Send printable ASCII (space to ~). Percent-encode other text as UTF-8, for example caf%C3%A9; the audit log stores it decoded. The header field names the header.

Retry: No. The same request gets the same answer; change something first.
