# TimeoutError

> Error name in a streaming error: the terminal did not answer in time.

**Likely causes:**

- The terminal or the broker is slow.
- A wait for synchronization ran past its timeout.

**What to do:** Repeat reads. Repeat a trade only with the same `requestId`, which returns the real outcome.

**Retry:** Only with the same `Idempotency-Key` (or `clientId`). The first attempt may have executed; never resend a trade blindly.
